Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the process take?

Our process takes 4 days from the time we start the job until the final clear coat is applied. Our process takes longer than other companies as we apply more layers of material onto the floor and we take more time to ensure your floor is perfectly and professionally completed.

How long does it take to dry/cure?

Once the final clear coat is applied; you can walk on the floor 24 hours later, place your items (except vehicles) back in the garage after 48 hours and park vehicles in the garage 72 hours later.

What is the difference between Polyurea vs. Epoxy?

Both Polyurea (a polyaspartic) and Epoxies are commonly used in the floor coating industry. The main differences between the two are; Polyurea cures faster than most epoxies, however, once cured epoxies are harder than Polyurea. We use a hybrid system of both epoxy and polyaspartics for a high quality, durable, easy to maintain floor coating.

Where do I put the items in my garage while the floor is being done?

Depending on the amount of items you have stored in your garage, you have several options. If possible, it’s easiest to store the items from your garage inside your home or relocate them to your side or back yards. If that isn’t an option, an alternative and easy solution to store items is the rental of a box truck (U-Haul type) and parking it in your driveway where it can be loaded, secured and unloaded with relative ease. Most truck rental companies charge per day with an additional mileage fee, so by leaving it parked in your driveway these charges are very minimal.

What makes our process better than others?

As previously mentioned, we take the time to ensure that your floor is meticulously and professionally installed. We’ve developed a process where we fill in the control/tooled joints, commonly found in residential garage floors, for a seamless finished surface. We use a 5 layer system, which includes a moisture barrier, base coat of epoxy, full flake coverage and two coats of uv stable clear. We use 1/2” flake compared to the standard 1/4” flake commonly used, for a much more premium, high end look. We also use a second coat of UV stable, polyaspartic clear for a more durable, easy to maintain and high quality finished product.
